Dr. Chavez originates from humble beginnings in a small Arizona town. His parents were hard working, owning a small restaurant where Dr. Chavez often worked.


He completed both his undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Arizona, obtaining his medical degree in 2006.  He completed a General Surgery Internship and Urologic Surgery Residency at the Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas, graduating in 2011. Dr. Chavez was trained in advanced da Vinci Robotic surgical skills at Scott & White Memorial Hospital. Currently, his practice focuses on the robotic surgical management of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and congenital diseases of the urinary tract, as well as treating general urologic conditions.

Dr. Chavez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology obtaining certification in 2013. He currently serves as the Chief of Urology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Chavez performs surgery at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tucson Medical Center.

In his free time, Dr. Chavez enjoys cycling and traveling throughout the western United States.
